An interview with my colleague Mr. Less on the subject of Chase of Horror - .mp3 format My discovery of Chase of Horror came around a year ago when Watson was first added to the review panel. He was describing a film that was in the directory queue to me. He said there was a scene where a guy ran over increasingly exotic animals in a car, set to Sinatra's Strangers in the Night. I was hooked before I even saw the thing. I emailed the director recently and asked him a few questions. Because of the language barrier, the result was largely incomprehensible. Read it anyway. The Interview wrote: What drugs were in your system during the making of Chase of Horror? Of course, there were no drugs... except our overfatigue Who made Chase of Horror? we are only 2 poor students with low budget, 20 years old, trying to get some attention to our exceptional ideas, founded mtprdouctions and hoping to enjoy the rest of the world The scene where the driver runs over the animals from the zoo while listening to the Frank Sinatra song is hilarious. Why did you choose that song? And how did you select the rest of the music for the film? Well, first this song is obviously in contrast to the madness of our main character who is in a killing spree and secondly it operates calmative in this absurdity at the same time. Had you seen any brickfilms before making Chase of Horror? If so, which ones were your favorites? There are no favourites....We've hardly watched any other brickfilms. The hole film was based on our great creativity! :) Did you create any films after finishing Chase of Horror? No, Chase of Horror was our second and last project. Our first Brickfilms was a Soccer film (Soccer Maniac, 2004). Do you identify with any of the characters in Chase of Horror? Have you personally ever gone on a killing spree? There's no identification with any of the characters in Chase of Horror. There are only a product of our fantasy animated by corresponding horror films and computer games....But do not want no animate to do such things...Watch your kidz ! Was Chase of Horror scripted? Just notes and improvisation He may have been lying, but a German friend of mine said there was a word in German for people that drive the wrong way in the road, into oncoming traffic. There's no translation for that in English, other than maybe "psychopath". Do people drive on the wrong way frequently in Germany? Are you a country of reckless drivers? Are the things that happen in Chase of Horror everyday events? What is the speed limit on an autobahn? In Germany, you do not pay for using the autobahn (like in france), thats why our autobahns are often overfilled. Furthermore there are parts, where no speed limit exists, that means you can drive with a speed of 130 miles per h or even more like our main character in chase of horror. The things that happen in chase of horror aren't of course everyday events. But sometimes, when you are listen to the radio, you can hear the story of a new "geisterfahrer" who drives in the wrong way at our autobahns.... don't ask why... but it happens casually. But the most of our auto drivers aren`t as reckless as you might think... so don`t be scared, if you want to visit germany.:) In Addition.... special things you might have not seen in the film: - the snake at the end of the film as a symbol of the evil(bible) - the tractor without driver at the beginning and (!) the end of the film - the oversized building worker or the snowman beside the street In Addition we are working on a concomitantly audio comment....will follow soon...there are holiday so...have patience...please! [not sure what exactly was meant by this, but I am sure as hell looking forward to it] I will be updating this post later this week as there is much to be said about Chase of Horror. |
